Journal 5

http://www.kissonline.com/

I found a webpage that seems to be the official website for the band KISS. This webpage does a great job of selling and defining KISS as a group. When first opened the page automatically explodes in big letter spelling "KISS" as well as a real life, popping out of the screen photo of KISS themselves. Also the author of the webpage includes a video of KISS's latest performance, which provides the viewer with an extra attention grabber in order to make them read and view the entire page. The big lettered, clearly visible font and clever headlines also make viewers want to learn more about the latest news in the life of KISS. This webpage does a great job of incorporating large, brightly colored font with attractive videos and photos to help the viewer get a good feel on who KISS is and what they do as artists. In KISS's situation, audio or video is a great medium to have on their webpage because they are artist and there job is to sell their music. By putting this in a website they can attract more people to listen to their product. In KISS's situation words simply wouldn't suffice, the views needs that alternate medium in order to fully understand the message being sent.
