RED

The journal article i chose came directly from project RED's website. The website is very plain it is white with the RED logo and I believe that it goes well with the text because it all goes back to the focus of the project. The focus is not the webpage, or the lively images that one could use, it is solely on the focus of the project: helping fight AIDS in Africa. The simplicity of this webpage signifies to me that the people are not so much concerned as to making their webpage the best but more of grabbing the attention of the readers and leading them to the focus of the project. The main picture in the article is one of Bono posing by himself in a black and white picture with the RED logo going across the photograph. On the website there are different pictures some of Africans in Africa and some of the people involved in this organization helping those in need. By using different methods such as videos, pictures, still art, etc. i believe that different things can be accomplished. For me reading this article gave me some perspective but when I actually see the pictures it makes me realize how poor these people are and how uneducated they must be on the subjects. Different things can help the audience expand their thinking on the subject and challenge them to look into it more. Images can often times do more because many times an image is what helps the goal get across the easiest. I suppose that the only good times to use words and no visual element would be when something is extremely personal. Pictures can often times give a deeper look into a subject. Although, words sometimes can put things in black and white for the reader and give them an exact meaning of what the author means to say.
