Journal 5

I chose a very easy website, it's simply Taylor Swifts personal fan page. I would confidently say it's an accurate depiction of Taylor Swift's personality and the message she tries to get across. I checked out the makers and owners of the website, and it turns out the owner is Taylor herself, and the makers are MDM, Mad Dancer's Media. Mad Dancer's Media has done a multitude of webpages for celebrities and Swift has been in business with them for five years. When you first go to the sight it's a huge scrapbook of all the different pages they have inside the website. There's options for news, media, her personal journal, her music, her biography and many more tabs, each with different clickable choices. The page is very fun loving and teen-friendly, with buttons and butterflies and her songs playing once you open it. The shades are mostly natural with some eye-popping colors here and there to catch your attention.
I would say that the words and text don't differer rhetorically. They compliment each other well where the text either explains what's going on in the picture of the picture helps go more in depth with the text. It's easy to accomplish different goals through different mediums, especially with songs. You can't judge a song just based on the lyrics alone, the melody, harmony, and beat add just as much to making it a great song. Also with the music videos, with a song it's easy to picture what you think is going on in your mind, but with a music video the artist shows you what's going on in their mind, what they're thinking and seeing through their music and lyrics.
Although music is a good medium to explain something without being boring, sometimes words are more appropriate, like in a serious time, (I'm not sure if this is what you're asking for but..) when someone is getting fired is a good example. You're not going to tell your employee they are let go in song, it would be rude and degrading, and you're not going to tell them through an image, that would be even worse!
