I found this ad on verabradley.com. Vera Bradley's main demographic is teen girls, especially during the months before school starts. This picture is effective because it shows girls who have the newest Vera Bradley bags. They all look happy and like they are having a great time. It looks like they are at a school of some kind also. Seeing girls around the same age using a particular product, would most likely make other girls that age or younger want that product. The message this picture conveys is how cool it is to have these bags and how they are the newest thing out there. It shows that this is the thing that is necessary to start out the new year. The photographer obviously chose girls around the age of the girls who are their targeted demographic. Also, having the girls at a school makes people automatically think about using these bags as a school bag. Right away the viewer sees and thinks about a use for this new product meaning they are more likely to buy it. This ad is trying to convince girls that to be cool, they need to have the newest bags. It may sound kind of harsh but I think this is what this ad is saying.
