Journal 3, "Hills Like White Elephants"

In the short story, "Hills Like White Elephants," an American couple are traveling through Spain via a train.  They stopped at a train station to switch trains and continue on their voyage through Spain, while waiting for the connection they decide to sit at the bar and have some drinks.  During this sitting a conversation erupts that i have absolutely no idea is about I'm assuming that is some kind of symbolization for something.  The duologue keeps referring to the landscape the two are in, rolling hills who remind the female character of a white elephant.  The woman wants the man to stop talking, about what?  I am not really sure but it seems the two are a couple and love each other very much.  I think the whole story is a symbolization for something and the atmosphere plays a huge part.  Also the man taking the bags to the other side of the track seemed to have some other underlying reason.
