Journal 3

This story wasn't very clear. Hemingway's stories are never very clear to me. He is hard for me to understand. It seems like a girl and an older man are in a bar or restaurant together. They sit down and have a few drinks while waiting for a train. It mentions all the hotels they have stayed at making me think they had been on an extended trip. They keep talking about something that the man wants done but the girl isn't really sure about. It never clarifies what they are talking about. It seems to be some type of procedure or something from the way the man is saying it's "perfectly simple." The man seems much more on board with the procedure than the girl is. The girl changes the subject a few times but it drifts back to talking about some sort of procedure. There isn't anything to really say for sure exactly what they are talking about. The girl seems to be worrying about if the man will still love her after which made me think they were romantically involved. The fact that they were involved could be a clue to what the procedure is.
